New for Winter 2026 — Cold-Tolerant Brassica and Asian Green Lines Now in Propagation

By Yield Australia Agronomy Team ·

Variety selection is where a winter program is won or lost. Off the back of our autumn screening runs through the Trials Portal, Yield Australia has added several new lines to the winter 2026 propagation schedule — selected specifically for performance in the cool, wet conditions the BOM is forecasting for southern Victoria this season.

What's New This Winter

  • Compact winter broccoli — A tighter-domed line with a 65-70 day winter cycle and strong tolerance to head rot in wet conditions. Well-suited to Werribee South and Lindenow open-ground programs
  • Cold-set cauliflower — Selected for reliable curd formation through cool nights, reducing the riskiness of mid-winter cauliflower in frost-light coastal districts
  • Premium pak choy and choy sum — Uniform, fast-turnover Asian green lines responding to strong wholesale demand for consistent winter supply
  • Cold-hardy kale and cavolo nero — Robust through frost, with excellent shelf life for the retail and food-service channels

Screened, Not Guessed

Every new line on our schedule has been through a screening trial before it reaches your order. Our Trials Portal lets seed companies and our in-house agronomy team run paid screening and free promo trials side-by-side, with a live growing clock and transplant tracking, so we can see real performance data in Werribee conditions before recommending a variety for commercial propagation.

If there's a variety you'd like us to trial for your operation, or you want to discuss which of these new lines suits your soil type and market window, get in touch. Reps can log new trials directly through the Trials Portal.

Order Early

New lines tend to book out fast once growers see them perform. With winter propagation running 4-6 weeks, lock in your trays now for July-August transplant. Call 1300 094 353 or speak with your account contact.
